Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Paws by the Shore

For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, “Paws by the Shore” refers to Karen Tuffen, operating as a sole trader.

Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement made between you (“you”, “the client”) and Karen Tuffen, trading as Paws by the Shore (“we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your use of our services, including dog boarding, day care, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By booking with Paws by the Shore, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not proceed with using our services.

We may amend these Terms at any time, and changes will take effect immediately once posted on our website or communicated to you directly. It is your responsibility to review them periodically.

Use of Our Services

You must be the legal owner of the dog(s) you are booking in for services, and by using our Services, you confirm that:

  • Your dog is up to date with vaccinations (including kennel cough, if required).

  • Your dog is microchipped, wormed, and treated for fleas.

  • Your dog is not in season (females) during their stay or attendance.

  • Your dog is not aggressive toward humans or other dogs.

  • You have disclosed any behavioural or medical conditions in advance.

We reserve the right to refuse service to any dog that we deem unsuitable for boarding/day care or that poses a risk to other dogs, our staff, or our property.

Health & Veterinary Care

In the event of illness or injury, we will make every effort to contact you or your nominated emergency contact. However, we reserve the right to seek veterinary treatment for your dog at your expense if necessary.

You agree to reimburse any veterinary costs incurred during your dog’s stay.

Dogs must not be brought for boarding or day care if they are unwell, injured, or contagious.

Dog Behaviour & Socialisation

While every effort is made to ensure the safety and comfort of all dogs in our care, you understand that dog socialisation carries inherent risks. We cannot be held liable for injuries caused by normal dog interactions (e.g., rough play, minor scratches).

If your dog displays persistent behavioural issues (e.g., aggression, excessive barking), we may request early collection.

Property & Belongings

You may provide bedding, toys, or other belongings for your dog. However, we cannot guarantee their return in the same condition and are not liable for loss or damage.

Drop-Off & Collection

Dogs must be dropped off and collected at the agreed times. Late collection may result in additional fees.

Liability

While we take all reasonable measures to ensure your dog’s safety and well-being, Paws by the Shore cannot be held liable for:

  • Injury, illness, or death of your dog arising from pre-existing conditions or unforeseeable events.

  • Any injury or damage your dog may cause to third parties while in our care, unless caused by our negligence.

Termination of Services

We reserve the right to terminate a booking immediately if:

  • A dog poses a risk to safety.

  • A client breaches these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Miscellaneous

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Paws by the Shore. If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
